Septic, water & sewerinstall and repair in Routt County
The work nobody thinks about until the drain backs up or the water line freezes. We find the problem, fix it, and show you pictures so you're not taking our word for it.
What we do
Roots through a joint. Usually.
Most sewer calls turn out to be roots, a crushed section or a sag where the line settled. Most water line calls are a leak or a freeze. Either way, the fix starts with digging to find it, and we'd rather dig once.
Septic systems
New septic installs and repairs: tanks, leach fields, and the lines between them, built to the approved design and ready for county inspection.
Sewer service lines
Repair or replace the line from the house to the main or the tank. Bedded, sloped right, and inspected before it gets buried.
Water service lines
New lines, leak repairs and full replacements, from the curb stop to the house, deep enough that they don't freeze.
Setting tanks
Septic tanks set with the excavator, level and on a proper base.

Straight answers
What people ask.
The questions that come up at nearly every walk-through, answered the same way we'd answer them on site.
Where we work: Oak Creek, Phippsburg, Yampa, Stagecoach, Steamboat Springs and the rest of Routt County.
- Do I need a permit for septic work in Routt County?
- For a new system and for most repairs, yes. Septic permits in Routt County go through the county's environmental health office, and a new system is built to a design approved with the permit. We'll walk you through it. Who pulls and pays for the permit is written on the estimate.
- My drains are backing up. Is it the sewer line?
- If more than one drain is slow or backing up, it's likely the main line rather than one fixture. Roots at a joint, a crushed pipe or a low spot where the line settled are the usual causes. We dig to it, show you what we found, and repair the section or replace the line, whichever makes more sense.
- Who owns the water line from the street?
- Usually the homeowner owns the line from the curb stop to the house, and the water district owns the main and the tap. It varies by district, so check with yours if the leak is near the street. We can work with the district if the job crosses into theirs.
- How do you keep a water line from freezing?
- Depth, mostly. Winters here freeze the ground deep, and a line that was buried shallow will freeze again no matter how many times it's fixed. New lines go below frost depth.
- How long does a sewer line replacement take?
- A typical house-to-main replacement is a day, sometimes two, if the ground cooperates. The hour-by-hour of one is on our home page.
